Removing the Bullsh*t from your life

Updated: Dec 13, 2021

Starting on your journey of self improvement is a great thing. You begin to exercise, read books, and consume all of the content that you believe may help you along your journey. You go on bike rides, you read different books on entrepreneurship and listen to motivational podcasts and videos. Truth is all of this new information helps you tremendously on your self development journey but somehow you still feel like you are not where you want to be. You ask yourself why that is and you realize there is a lot that still hasn't changed. You realize that you added everything that you think may help you but you didn't remove the things that are still hindering you. You may exercise but you still eat junk food consistently. You listen to podcasts but you still binge your favorite show when you can. You integrate positive habits into your life but you remain stuck because you've kept all the bad habits that waste your time and your potential. All the great things are in constant balance with the negatives in your life and you remain exactly where you are at. This realization was huge for me. Since then I've been making changes to my life, purging my bad habits and I realized its a lot harder than I thought. I realized its way easier to add something good into your life than to subtract something negative. When you add something new its not necessarily an integral part of your identity yet and all you have to do is consume it consistently to make it yours. However, when you look to remove something that is already part of your everyday life, you are fighting internally with the current version of yourself to let go of something that has been part of your identity for a very long time. You have an identity crisis by letting go of who you once were and the feelings and emotions that come from this are very conflicting to your inner soul. Your body and mind wants to remain comfortable and safe and the best way to do this is to remain in the same predictable routine it was in yesterday.

I invite you to let go of the bullsh*t in your life whatever that may be. Make a list of the habits, routines, ideas and identities that you no longer want in your life. The ones that are hindering you from becoming your true future self. Let them go. Let them go because they are not a part of who you know you will become. Let them go because they are hurting you instead of helping you. Write them down and set them on fire. Write them down and tear them into pieces. Write them down and extinguish them from this physical world, and from your mind and soul and watch your as you life begins to change.

My goal in sharing this is to better understand my own thinking patterns and emotions but also to be able to help others understand theirs. I want to close the gap between your current-self and your future self and that involves purging all the mediocracy from your brain and body. I want to be honest and vulnerable because we need more authenticity in this world. We need more people to share their thoughts and emotions because they matter and could make a huge difference, even if its just for one person. You have potential my friend and I hope to get you there sooner than later.
